AAC Family Night at ELC

This will be our 3rd year offering an AAC Family Engagement Night to families across the district and programs with children who use AAC. We offer time for families to come together, learn more about their student's communication device, and give time for them to interact in meaningful ways with other families. We hope they then take home ways to incorporate their student's communication devices into more activities with comfort and confidence. While the parents are engaged in the event, we also provide childcare for any children in their home who accompany them to the event.

This year, we are doing two separate events for our families. Our first event is on Monday, 2/3/25 from 6-7:30p at ELC. We will have an overview of AAC and use at home with modeling, and then we will play a game as a whole group (might be Bingo) while using their student's device. We are going to have games and toy stations for families to interact with one another while using their student's devices as well; these stations will be led by SLP volunteers.
